About Us

History

Blakeman & Associates was established in 1988 to provide businesses with resources for their safety and human resource compliance needs. Although originally focused on providing “General Industry” safety and HR services, Blakeman & Associates adapted to meet the ever changing needs of clients and provide solutions for numerous industry-specific compliance and regulatory issues in areas of SafetyHRDOT, *ISNetworld®, and more.

In the late 80s, when the cost of Workers’ Compensation started to spiral out of control, there was a mass exodus of companies who knew they could reduce costs and have greater flexibility by creating customized benefit programs. However, responsible “Non-Subscribers” needed to have their own safety programs and HR policies in place when opting out of Workers’ Compensation. This created a huge demand for human resources and safety help — a need Blakeman & Associates identified and responded to accordingly.

Blakeman & Associates serves a highly diverse range of industries, from government organizations to small businesses, large co-ops and more. This has afforded Blakeman & Associates the opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge and experience in many sectors, including environmental, energy, fabrication, machining, nursing homes, and construction, to name a few.

Management

Linda Williams

President/Owner
Linda is a Graduate of Texas A&M University, Summa Cum Laude Class of 1988. Starting in 1995 Linda combined her responsibility as CFO of Blakeman & Associates with 24 years of teaching fifth & sixth grade math. She retired from teaching in 2009. Her love of working with children and their parents made an easy transition to the HUB ownership of Blakeman & Associates. She believed every child had individual strengths and needs. This belief has become the foundation of Blakeman & Associates. “We are not a cookie cutter society. Blakeman works hard to build a relationship with their clients and develop solutions to their individual needs to insure success in all levels of compliance. Every situation is important no matter how small or how large.” With the guidance of her management team she has successfully brought together a staff of the best experts in HR, DOT, OSHA and Contractor Compliance while encouraging the culture of family, team work and business compliance.

Lee Salazar

CEO
Lee Salazar has over 30 years experience in the HR and Safety industry. Mr. Salazar has a degree in HR Management from University of Houston and a degree from Texas State Technical College in Occupational Health & Safety. Mr. Salazar is the Director of Operations for Blakeman & Associates. Mr. Salazar has represented and assisted restaurants, hotels, transportation, manufacturing, retail stores, chemical producers and construction companies in State and Federal agency inspections. Mr. Salazar is here to discuss Blakeman & Associates services and programs that are available to you at your locations.

Dan Wilson

VP of Operations
Dan has been with Blakeman & Associates since 2007. Dan brought his experience working with a wide range of industries including industrial machinery, retail, and residential construction. He is an expert advisor in OSHA compliance and assisting small to medium size companies to create and/or improve their overall safety and health programs.

Michele McCarter

Director of HR Services & Quality
Michele McCarter is a certified, degreed Senior Human Resource Consultant with over 18 years’ experience in her field. Although most of her experience is as a human resources generalist she has been specializing in compliance for the last eight years. Michele joined Blakeman & Associates in 2010 as an HR Consultant for their many and varied clients and is in charge of HR services and quality for the company. She is a certified PHR and SHRM-CP and plans to obtain her SPHR

Maggie Lima

Director of Business Administration
Over 15 years of executive level experience in HR and Operations with concentration in Healthcare and Construction. She is certified in Organizational Development and holds a B.S. in Sociology. Maggie joined Blakeman & Associates in 2016 as the Office Manager and has expanded her role to the Director of Business Administration focusing primarily on business operations, sales and marketing.
